Clowder backup is a personal tool run by one person, Jason Teo, on his own home server. This page explains what it does with data.
When the owner signs in with Google, the app asks for one permission: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. That lets it create, read and delete only the files and folders it created itself, in the owner's own Google Drive. It cannot see any other file there, and it does not read email, contacts, calendar or profile data.
It uploads encrypted backups of the owner's own files to a folder it creates, and reads or deletes those same backup files to restore them or to remove old copies. The backups are encrypted on the server before they are uploaded, so Google only stores scrambled data.
The app does not collect data from anyone other than its owner, does not sell, share or transfer Google user data to anyone, and does not use it for advertising or analytics. The sign-in token is stored only on the owner's server.
Backups are kept until the owner's own retention rules remove them. The owner can revoke the app's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and can delete the backup folder from Google Drive.
